RussBuss-

I love the zones as well so I tried your scheme as close as I could with Philly's PB and got picks on my opponents first three drives. Then I had to switch up with some zone blitzes. All and all I really appreciate your style of defense.

I can't get over how amazing this scheme is. It fits perfectly with my eagles. I don't even need to blitz. I stop the run easily, well not easily, but I do stop the run. Trent Cole and Bunkley plow through the line almost every time, and I get a sack 2 out 6 out of 10 times. It's amazing, and I have been getting 5 picks a game just about.

Thanks man..,. having good CBs and a nice FS makes this D killer... Eagles run it real well.

i just run, cover 3 and 3-3-5 cover 3....and i man up on 1st down....works for me...

don't know what the hell happened to me last night but i was running cover 3 last night with the eagles and the TE in the middle was open every play and L. Coles on the Jets couldnt be stopped

Did you read the post? The whole point is to adjust to what your opponent is doing... with a couple changes you could of shut that down

ALright, so your a dumbass if you don't understand this means I run Cover 3 every play except Goaline. Yes every fucking play except on the Goaline and 4th and Short. Is it dumb? Maybe. Does it work? Cover 3 can be adjusted to anyones playing style. If someone is beating you with the run, Show Blitz, blitz the MLB and commit to the run. Cpver 3 Covers the flats. If someone beats you with Curls, simply change the Flat covereges to the purple zones. If someone is RCing, then you will pick him off. Now, with that being said, I use the Cowboys, who have great corners after a little adjustment. That is, moving everyone except Newman down a spot, and placing Patrick Watkins at number 2 corner. That takes out the RC to his side of the field. DO NOT RUN THIS IF YOU CAN'T USER PICK. If you do, you will get Rocket Catched all over. If I am playing a fast QB then I put the DT in a spy, put one DE in a contain, and control the other, if the dude I'm playing beats me over the middle, I control the safety, the key to this defense is that you adjust to your opponents style of play. I like to show blitz A LOT, even when I'm not blitzing. I haven't covered all the situations that you can face, just give me a way opponents beat you adn I will show you how to stop it well w/ Cover 3.

Yo, Im really feeling that being a defensive player myself. I like that scheme because Cover 3 really doesnt have a weakness in that type of zone like a Cover 2 does. How long did it take you to come up with that strategy and how long have you been using it?

thanks RussBuss for these tips! i run the Ravens and recently, i have been running the 4-6 defense. good stuff! however, as you know...i feel that the Ravens would really excel in that 3-4 defense. i feel that they are "tailor-made" for the 3-4 system. i am a level 18 in madden09.....i consider myself a "journeyman" though...meaning i only play for recreation online....but....i am always looking to improve my game in order to be competitive.

P.S. what are your "suggested" 5 audibles? and....do you ever blitz or bring the HEAT on your opponents? if so...which plays would you recommend? thanks fo rthe help.
