After the 2 months of the season the Giants are still in 1st Place in the NL West with a record of 31-25
here is the rest of the division after May

Giants- 31-25
Padres- 28-29
Rockies- 27-30
D-Backs- 26-30
Dodgers- 25-30

The team is still in rebuilding mode and will not consider trading for a big name at the deadline, as of yet because management still isn't truely convinced this team cannot bring home the 1st World Series to the Giants since the move from New York to San Francisco this season, but possibly in the next few years to come.

In the month of May a couple milestones were reached

Ray Durham- 2000 hits
Aaron Rowand- 100 homeruns

Dave Roberts was injured in the middle of May and is out for 1-2 months, the Giants placed him on the 60 day disabled list and brought up another speedy outfielder Clay Timpner from AAA to be a good pinch runner of the bench which Dave Robers did a great job of until his injury with 12 stolen bases

Bronx, New York City- The 2008 All Star Game at Yankee Stadium. It was the last time at the United States' equivalent for the Roman Collesium, but this collesium will be demolished at the end of the season. The starting pitcher for the AL squad was last year's Cy Young winner C.C. Sabathia of the Cleveland Indians. The starter for the NL is another former Cy Young winner in Johan Santana of the New York Mets. The NL took the early lead in the 1st inning with RBIs by Luis Castillo and Carlos Beltran to put them up 2-0. The NL wouldn't look back as they won 4-0. The other 2 runs came on a 2 run shot to the upper deck in left field by David Wright, who was named the All Star Game MVP.

Thanks to the National League's victory they will be granted homefield advantage in this years World Series.
