| Not being traded befor offseason.
Truthfully i hope The don't get his option. He's not worth 20 mil per year anymore. His homeruns are on a decline. Still not a bad player but has had scuffles with YOUK and someone in the front office.
For 20 mil the red sox could get Holliday plus another decent player. |

agreed... he is my favorite player and i would cry if he doesnt retire a redsox cuz he is the greatest hitter to put on the uniform since ted williams and theres NO WAY we win 2 titles w/o him
and patriots 20 million is a bargain compared to what arod is making and manny is just as good this season |

| I personally don't want a guy on my team that doesn't want to play. He's been sitting out the last couple of days with a phony injury that doesn't exist. These are the biggest games of the year against the yankees and he doesn't want to play. They said if he didn't play today the red sox were going to give him a suspension.
Dont get me wrong hes still a good player and i like him but i think there is better options in the outfield going into the future. |

so your giving up this year? cuz w/o him they arent winning shit
and who says we would get anything anyway, im pretty sure other teams see this and realize that he is becoming a distraction and would make the price really low
I remember they put him on waivers a few years ago and no1 took him so for some team to give up promising prospects for him is very unlikely to say the least |

that's one of the reasons that i wasn't too upset when he left cleveland because he has always been kind of an idiot. little known fact about manny- the Indians would either hire, or make sure that they had someone sitting along the outfield wall to yell out to him to make sure he was paying attention and not daydreaming |

Pierce sat out to tank for Oden or Durant if the Celtics really were a contender he would have played through it
Totally different than Manny sitting out
but still people blow shit out of proportion its 1 game so its the yankees he prolly was sore and needed a day off you know what your going to get from him at the end of the season and in the playoffs |

I'm not giving up on this year. i said in an earlier pos that i hope nothing happens at the deadline regarding manny but during the offseason i hope something happens. |

Red Sox outfielder Manny Ramirez said today that he'd approve a trade if the team can reach one. The implication is that Ramirez would not require additional compensation to waive his no-trade power, but that's uncertain.
The quote:
"If they can get a trade, I'd approve it. If they can't trade me, then they will simply have to inform me by the end of the season that they won't use the options and we'll go separate ways."
Notice how Manny doesn't mention the possibility of his '09 option being exercised.
