| august 1st is probably wen they will start, i like the idea because it will speed the game up and they will actually get the call right because 60% of the time...they get it wrong |

| no unless they keep it just homeruns or outs in the field
i mean 1st it will contest homeruns
then i have a felling they will eventually contest balls and strikes
part of being a good hitter/pitcher is adjusting to what the umpire calls as a strike or ball which is different every gameand to change that after all these seasons of baseball history doesn't seem alright, but thats just me |

| They will never let it get that far. Balls and strikes are up to the umps and we are trying to fasten up the games.

because the player/manager wouldnt have to go argue with the ump and get ejected because the call would always be right... |

| but regardless the manager would come out and argue for a replay. then the umps would go find a damn replay booth, look at that for a few minutes. then depending on which team wins the challenge, the opposing coach will come out and argue.
it wouldnt save any time IMO. it could only take longer.
and this will definitely lead to replays on other things, not just homeruns. which would make the game take even longer. |

it wouldnt work like that...i read an article on how it would work....ill try to find it but its going to make it go alot faster....i was watching the dbacks game the other day wen reynolds homerun was counted as a double wen i twas clearly a homerun....it took 22 minutes for it to get sorted out
1. pirates manager came out argued
2. umps got together
3. overturned call
4. melvin comes out for a while
5. melvin gets ejected
6. bench coach comes out
a replay would take about 2-3 minutes to make the call....it will only be used for border calls such as safe or out at homeplate and homeruns.....it makes it go faster and gets it right
i like the human element on balls and strikes but imagine ur team in the playoffs in a crucial game....u hit a foul ball to left field...some fucking idiot god forsaken fan interfers with a left fielder....they dont know if its can interference or not wen replay may concur that it was interference....it changed the whole game, playoffs, and world series |

all of that could and probably would still happen with the coaches arguing, regardless of replay or not. |

if this was to slow the game up....instant replay would not be coming into play
considering the MLB wanted umpires to speed the game up....its going to be different then football with the challenges and everything
its gonna be like a buzzer better in basketball....refs go review it, instantly call it shot or not shot |
